XCOM scum board for GDS Mafia

Hey guys, Ranson here (obviously). We can use this bard for scummy discussion, of which this will be my first time. Here's my Role and details, though I essentially emailed the effects earlier.

Muton Alien Invasion Aligned Mindless Brute

Each night phase you, or the Ethereal Commander must PM the Mod the name of a player you wish to target, failure to do so will result in a player being chosen at random to target. The targetted player will be killed, unless other forces intervene. But that is not all, as a hulking, inhuman killing machine, you also have a 100% chance to kill an additional non Alien player that targets you at night, and a 50% chance to kill two players if they target you at night during the same phase. This skill is called blind fire. If a third non alien player should also target you, they will escape attack. You have limited protection against small arms fire but this is offset by the fact that the Ethereal Commanders Mental Illusion of being Human does not extend to your large form, meaning any human that targets you at night and survives will know that you are an alien. As such, given your form, you may not participate in lynches. You may post, you can even pretend to vote, but your vote will not be counted. You win when the humans are destroyed.

So, In short: I'm designated killer, I kill the first to target me each night, if they are the only one to do so. 50/50 on each if there are two. A third gets away. Anyone targeting me and surviving knows my alignment. My vote will also not be counted in lynches.

You Are Sectoid Alien Invasion Aligned Master Of Fear

With the recent Alien Invasion, your role is clear, instill fear in the humans and gather as much data as possible. To Wit, PM the mod the name of the player you wish to target each night phase, doing so will result in most players going in to a panic, roleblocking them for the night. If the player is armed there is also a 25% chance that player will fire on another player chosen at random. Your ability has an added bonus, you will receive the role title of each player you target. The Ethereal Commanders Mental Illusion of being Human works on you, so you will appear as a human being to most who see you, but be warned, there are some ways to break this illusion. You win when the humans are destroyed.

I'm going to try to check in when I can over the weekend, but my participation will probably be pretty low until Monday.

These all may be done in either day or night phase, but doing so will render you powerless the following phase. You may PM the mod either at night or during day phase and do one of the following things to most enemy players:
1. Instill panic and roleblock/ vote block a player for that phase while also learning that players role title.
2. Take control of that player and direct their action or vote on to any other player you desire while also learning that players role title.
3. Carry an illusion out on a corpse (be it alien or human) and make it appear human aligned or alien aligned.
4. Mind sweep, and learn three players role title at once (the targets are chosen at random).
5. Float above the fray at night to become untargetable, or float above the crowd during the day to become unlynchable. You may only use this ability once.
Note. Given your frail body, you are susceptible to small arms fire. Also, The Ethereal Commanders Mental Illusion of being Human works on you, so you will appear as a human being to most who see you, but be warned, there are some ways to break this illusion. You win when the humans are destroyed.

Here is teh remaining list. If they arent on by the end of night phase 1 (monday evening) Then I'll just have Ranson designate their actions until they either decide to play or get replaced, whichever happens first.

Emark:
You Are Chryssalid Alien Invasion Aligned Zombie Maker
With the recent invasion, your role is clear. With recent genetic modifications, your speed and endurance has been increased, you are completely immune to small arms fire. Each night phase you, or the Ethereal Commander must PM the Mod the name of a player you wish to target, failure to do so will result in a player being chosen at random to target. The targetted player will be killed, unless other forces intervene. But that said, outside of slicing up your target with claws you may choose, on only one occassion, to inject your target with an egg. This egg will result in your target becoming zombified and joining the Alien Invasion. Once Zombified they have no powers of their own, but once they are severly wounded they can transform in to an eggless Chryssalid themselves, capable of killing every other night until you are removed from the game, at which time they can kill every night phase. Alas, due to your monstrous form, the Ethereal Commanders Mental Illusion of being Human does not extend to you, meaning any human that targets you at night will know that you are an alien. As such, given your form, you may not participate in lynches. You may post, you can even pretend to vote, but your vote will not be counted. You win when the humans are destroyed.
Yes, you really do have 2 night kills.

Astil:
You Are Ethereal Commander Alien Invasion Master of Puppet Masters

As the commander of this invasion, nearly all of your mental powers are being used to maintain a human illusion on many of your subordinates and yourself. Unlike the others, however, your illusion is absolute, and you will appear human even under a direct mind probe. Your armored cloak will also protect you against one physical attack (excluding high explosives). You also have an ability you may use once during a day phase, at the cost of maintaning the Human Illusion the following night phase. Simply PM the mod that you wish to initiate a morale collapse among humans. This will automatically lower their morale to awful, this will result in lynches then to require 2/3rds of the player base to vote to achieve lynch and will cause all armed humans to suffer 25% drop in accuracy. Note that should you die, all aliens will suffer a similar 25% drop in accuracy. Also note, regarding the efficacy of Psionic attacks, success is based on rank. For example, normal humans are usually 100% susceptible to psionic attacks. Rookies are 90%, Squaddies 80%, Sergeants 70% and so on, though individuals may vary in regards of psionic strength! You win when the humans are destroyed.

Listed here are the innate defenses for psionic attack, by that i mean, a Sergeant is 70% susceptible, so they will defend against them roughly 1/3 of the time.

And by designate their actions, I mean starting N1 you can do just a PM with a list of their actions if they, or Astil, arent on before then.

Well, it looks like we have a lot of sweet, sweet murder machines. Astil has yet to even post in the game thread, but he did say participation would be limited for a time. Emark checked in the once, and I think responded to my initial PM about the board. Unregistered has posted once about potential limited participation.

That said, what do the present members think about targeting? I think my reasoning above stands, with making my kill a corpse illusion; that should sow some confusion, because I'm less likely to get caught out. That leaves us with at least one chance at info gathering or sowing other confusion. We also have a second kill in emark. Emark is also our most vulnerable member to being outed, as he's neither illusion covered or with a defensive kill, like me (immune to small arms is good, though - means normal night kills may not work). I think using his implant skill early and having the potential of three night kills is a powerful thing, though reserving it until some townies have built trust around themselves could be more effective (by turning someone with a lot of influence). If it looks like we're going to lose him at any point, we should use it immediately, though.

It looks like we've been balanced to have a lot of kills and chances to cause chaos, but an inability to directly load votes on a lynch. That means that we're going to have to rely on the night phases for now.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Re-reading the ethereal roles, we've also got some powerful vote manipulation chances, depending on the rank of the opponent. I think that's best used when we've either got a close one on one of us, or them. That's nice and vicious.

Hey team, finally able to get online...

Only my second game and first as Team Scum. I'll pretty much follow the lead of the Don. Should I go ahead and vote? With my vote not counting, I don't know if that will throw up a red flag immediately. Especially as Derek is all about taking notes and such. If I do it will have to be included in a flurry of other voters.

I'm with Ranson on this one for using my skill early on. If I'm a target early on then I won't last long enough for the team, so do with me as you will.

So, from what I understand, Comradebot should not have anything on hellshock unless he's in a mason or something because he was definitely roleblocked. Hmm... ok. Acting too cocky might be a giveaway, though, especially if he does have something.

Ranson, I saw your claim in the other thread - to be honest, you could claim that and go with it, claiming that Derek could have died for any reason (like a SK or something, three kills in a small game can't be that farfetched). In fact, you could say you targeted one of the dead bodies, that would make sense with the dead body in the writeup. Worst comes to worst, I throw the town's morale to zero and you survive till the next night phase and hopefully someone will end up targeting you.

That was a random three rolecop I saw in the night phase, wasn't it? Except only two people got hit. Mmm. Also, I suggest that one-time recruit gets used immediately now that we know that we control all of the kills in the night phase.

/nod I think claiming your role in the other thread is probably his best bet. Just remember to remove that comma!

Forget you ever read this post. Night all, hope all of us survive relatively intact.

Can I say that it's really ridiculous that there was a whole night spent on how the town needs to talk more and not blindly rely on results, but that is exactly what the town is doing now - putting Ranson to near lynch and writing him off all based on one result that could have easily been tampered with by a scum redirector? Man, this is like playing a Titan into an opponent's two untapped islands - something could go terribly wrong and you're not anticipating it at all, which could lead to a blowout. But it doesn't and town morale is going to go up in more ways than one again because they were right and stuff... I am so going to invent a punisher mechanic sometime for this sort of thing.

Anyways, my post midnight rant which shouldn't be taken seriously because I probably have no right to say anything, but enjoy lucidity brought on by sleep dep

With the sniper gone (IR goggles, etc.) we might be the only ones with night kills but you never know which soldier could be holding back since it was night one.

I like Ranson's idea of the fake claim. I'm still not a pro at this game but laying low like I have and posting sporadically seems to keep me under the radar as fas as I can tell but that may fly too much longer.

A reminder, since apparently some people forgot. You can not change corpse for Aliens who do not use the illusion, meaning Mutons and chryssalids appear as Mutons and chryssalids upon death.

Ah, right. It would've been nice to make this appear like a mislynch if it goes through (which looks kind of probable now as people are just continuously piling on)
